Earthquake paragraph
An earthquake is one of the most devastating natural disasters. It happens suddenly without warning. It occurs when the plates under the Earth’s surface move and create strong shaking. During an earthquake, the ground trembles, buildings shake, and people panic because everything around them becomes unsafe. Sometimes small cracks appear on the roads, and walls break. In a strong earthquake, houses, schools, and bridges collapse within seconds. Many people get injured, and some lose their lives. Electricity poles fall, water lines break, and communication systems fail to function. These create more problems for rescue teams. After the earthquake, people are afraid of staying in the buildings. The smaller quakes can also cause more damage. The affected people often stay in open fields or temporary shelters until it is safe again. Rescue teams and volunteers come to help by giving food, water, medicine, and blankets to the victims. However, an earthquake reminds us that nature is powerful and unpredictable. So, we should build strong houses and learn safety rules to prevent such disasters. Proper planning and awareness can reduce damage and save many lives.
