Bangladesh is a land of rivers. There
are many big and small rivers flowing through the country. That is why
Bangladesh is called the land of rivers. These rivers make our country green
and fertile.
The main rivers of Bangladesh are the
Padma, the Jamuna, and the Meghna. Apart from them, there are many other rivers
like the Teesta, the Buriganga, the Karnaphuli, and the Surma. These rivers
flow through villages, towns, and cities.
Rivers are very important for our lives.
Farmers use river water to grow crops. Boats and launches move on rivers. So,
people can travel and carry goods easily. Fishermen catch fish from rivers,
which are an important food for us.
Rivers also help our country in many
ways. They make the land fertile by bringing new soil every year. Many people
earn their living from rivers by fishing, boating, and trading.
However, rivers also cause floods during
the rainy season. Floods sometimes damage crops and houses. Still, rivers are a
blessing for Bangladesh.
In conclusion, the rivers of Bangladesh
are the lifeline of the country. They help our economy, our food, and our daily
life. We should love our rivers and keep them clean.
