Price hike report
Staff Reporter, Khulna, January 20, 2026: Price
hike means an increase in the prices of daily necessary goods. Now, it is one
of the biggest problems in Bangladesh. The prices of rice, oil, vegetables,
fish, meat, eggs, and medicines are going up day by day. Because of this,
common people are facing great trouble in their daily lives. There are many
reasons for the price hike. Sometimes, natural disasters like floods and
cyclones destroy crops. Sometimes, middlemen store goods to make more profit.
An increase in fuel prices also increases transport costs, and this makes
everything more expensive. In addition, import problems and dollar crisis also increase
prices. Price hike affects poor and middle-class people the most. Low-income
people cannot buy enough food for their families. Many students cannot buy
books and other study materials. Some people are forced to reduce meals or eat
low-quality food. This creates suffering and mental stress in families. The
government should take strong steps to control price hikes. Market monitoring
should be strict. Hoarders should be punished. The import of necessary goods
should be made easy. At the same time, people should avoid wasting food and
buying extra things. However, a price hike is a serious problem. If the government,
traders, and people work together, this problem can be reduced, and life can
become easier for all.
